Emergency Preparedness

Response Plans

Each JRM facility and vessel is required to perform an emergency assessment to identify all potential emergencies including but not limited to medical, fire, environmental, natural disasters, and security emergencies. Based on the probability and severity of potential emergencies identified in the assessment, a formal emergency preparedness, prevention, and response plan is written specific to the facility and/or vessel. Each plan must provide for a formal command structure made up of trained personnel to respond to each type of emergency.

Emergency Equipment and Facilities

In addition to established company guidelines that list the minimum types of emergency equipment and facilities required for:

  • Medical treatment facilities
  • Fire fighting
  • Environmental cleanup equipment
  • Communication systems

An emergency management and control assessment is performed to determine the minimum equipment and facilities required for each local facility, remote job location, and vessel to adequately respond to emergencies.
