J. Ray McDermott?s Environmental Commitment

J. Ray McDermott has committed to minimize its impact to the environment resulting from its operations worldwide. This commitment can be summarized into the following:

Prevent Pollution

Maintain an overall effort of prevention and conservation. Minimize the amount of pollution emitted to the air, discharged to water, spilled on the ground, and landfilled as waste.

Compliance

Comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and comply with company policies and procedures. Comply with the requirements of business contracts and customer requirements, maintain a do-the-right-thing attitude that goes above and beyond governmental regulations and community expectations.

Strive for Continuous Improvement

Set environmental objectives and targets based on our performance, changing legal requirements, changing community expectations, and worldwide best practices. Continuously reduce our impact to the environment as measured by air emissions, water discharges, spills, and landfilled waste. Conserve energy, water, and fuel.

Environmental Aspects and Impact Assessment

Assessments are performed to identify the environmental aspects associated with the activities, products, and services that may have a significant impact on the environment. The assessments are then used to establish operation controls and to set objectives and targets for reducing environmental impact to as low as reasonably practicable.
