GENERAL CONTRACTING

Services
Products

Mentor Subsea Technology Services offers a complete range of general contracting services. Our capabilities span the complete scope of subsea project engineering and execution. Specific activities include:

Front End Engineering and Design
Front End Engineering and Design (FEED), including comprehensive flow assurance analysis, provides the basis for generation and evaluation of field development options. Ultimately, the FEED will result in a project development plan including field layout, equipment options and recommendations.

Risk Assessment
Mentor includes comprehensive risk assessment as an integral part of project and contracting activities. FMECA and HAZOP analyses are conducted with the client or independently, as appropriate, to ensure a thorough understanding of real and potential risk and provide the foundation for execution phase contingency planning.

Cost & Scheduling
During the FEED stage, Mentor typically prepares cost and scheduling estimates. These estimates ultimately are reviewed and amended as appropriate and incorporated into the scope of work for the project. Mentor has a well-developed set of tools for cost and schedule management and reporting. Cost data includes both labor and procurement. Scheduling is reported at a detail level sufficient for effective control while addressing specific client requirements. Scheduling is typically conducted using Primavera products.

Interface Management
An integral part of any project is the identification and management of interfaces. These may include the client and Mentor, as well as suppliers of other goods or services, to the project. Interface management provides effective control and ensures all parties are informed of their role in the scope of supply, as well as addressing the reciprocal communication and data interchange requirements.

Procurement
Mentor offers added value through procurement activities. In addition to specifying project hardware and services, Mentor provides procurement services. This allows Mentor to effectively evaluate various suppliers, prepare procurement recommendations and upon receipt of client's approval, initiate procurement activities.

Quality Management
Quality surveillance, control & management and activities are included in Mentor's basic capabilities offered for each project. Quality plans are developed to address the needs of the project to ensure an appropriate level of review and control. The objective is to achieve delivery of products and services that meet or exceed all project and/or regulatory requirements.

Installation
Mentor not only provides the engineering and procurement for a project, but is also able to provide installation services. Mentor has direct access to the J. Ray McDermott fleet of construction and installation vessels and support facilities. However, the final selection of installation equipment will be based on lowest cost, schedule and suitability.

Mentor will supervise all aspects of the installation process including rig activities involving tree installation, diverless connections, system installation from DSVs/MSVs and ROV operations. Mentor has implemented many procedures aimed at reducing ROV costs by eliminating dive abort times.

Hook Up and Commissioning
Mentor provides complete assistance for the hook up and commissioning of offshore systems. This includes flowline commissioning, managing the topsides interface and most importantly managing the control system/umbilical operations for system start up.
