| The patented diverless subsea pipeline tie-in
sled is a unique improvement of the conventional shallow water,
diverless side tap system. It was designed to provide a cost
effective method to expand deep water transmission pipeline
infrastructure using existing subsea equipment and methods for
tie-in.
The diverless tie in sled was designed for installation
by S-Lay in diverless water depths using conventional installation
techniques with minor modifications.
The tie in sled, pictured below, incorporates a symmetrical
piggable "Y", an Oil States HydroTech horizontal collet connector
make end closure and guide posts and two (2) Subsea ball valves
with a diverless sealant injection system.
The sled incorporates retracting mud-mats to provide on
bottom stability after installation.
A bridle assembly is attached to the piggable "Y" to provide
an attachment point for buoyancy during installation. Buoyancy
is used to maintain vertical stability of the sled to prevent
rotation during the installation process while the sled traverses
the over-bend and sag-bend of the pipeline.
