Description:

  • North Field is an extensive gas field offshore Qatar. Gas is piped 80 km to an LNG plant at Ras Laffan where production commenced from trains 1 & 2 in 1996. Train 3 will lift capacity to 6 million tons per year.

Scope:

  • Lump sum contract for design, procurement, construction, installation, hook-up and commissioning of a process platform, wellhead topside, bridge, pipeline and submarine cable.

Innovations:

  • 27 months from award to start-up
  • Float over installation of 4,500 ton production topside

Technology:

  • Inconel alloy process piping
  • Explosion bonded inconel clad vessel
