Description:
- Engineering, fabrication, transportation and installation
of the MC109 platform. Jacket transported and launched from
Intermac 650 and deck transported on Intermac 404. Installed
jacket, 12" x 84" skirt piles (422' length) and
30" x 26" conductors to 450' penetration.
Scope:
- McDermott Engineering, Houston responsible for preliminary
engineering and detailed structural engineering, which included
preparation of the fabrication bid package and ordering
of the structural steel for the piles and all tubulars in
jacket.
- JRM responsible for transportation and installation of
jacket and deck, as well as setting H&P drill rig on
deck, with the DB50. Responsibilities also included installing
conductors with the DB28.

- Self-uprighting jacket (22,000 s.t.)
- Launched piles to upend off side of DB50 with rocker system
- Drove first conductors "Closed Ended" - McDermott

Technology:
- Used counterweights on deck to artificially shift C.O.G.
- ROV actuated grouting system with hot-stab back-up
