Scope:

Multi-services contract with J. Ray McDermott being responsible for:

  • Fabrication of deck
  • Offshore mating of Auger hull and deck
  • Installation of lateral mooring system
  • Connection of Auger TLP to lateral mooring system
  • Tendon assembly, installation and TLP tendon tensioning
  • Installation of 12" Oil & Gas Sales Pipeline

Innovations:

  • Box girder and node fabrication techniques
  • Float-over mating in open water
  • Tendon assembly and installation
  • Lateral mooring system installation
  • Pipelay utilizing S-Lay and J-Lay techniques

Technology:

  • World's first application of J-Lay pipelay technology
  • Set Gulf of Mexico pipelay water depth records at time of construction
