Description:
- First commercial development in the hostile Atlantic Frontier.
14 subsea wells produce oil via a manifold, through rigid
flowlines and 14 flexible risers into the vessel weather
vane around a moored turret. Vessel has a storage capacity
of 300,000 barrels and shuttle tankers visit approximately
every three days.
Innovation:
- Open management and mutual business goals, e.g. subsea
alliance involving all major suppliers, shared risks and
rewards
- Fast track schedule, 3.5 years from discovery to first
oil
- Parallel engineering, field appraisal and design work
carried out simultaneously

Scope:
- Alliance contract, with J. Ray McDermott responsible for
project management, design, engineering, procurement and
installation of total subsea system (trees, flowlines, risers,
etc.) as well as design, procurement and supervision of
hook-up & commissioning of the 95,000 bopd topsides
and turret.
