Description:
- The Jamestown is a Steel Tanker Floating Production System
built in 1957 at Newport News, Va. The Jamestown was converted
to an FPSO in 1995 at J. Ray McDermott's Fabrication Facility
at Harbor Island, Port Aransas, Tx.
- The Fabrication / Ship Yard performed the following conversions
to the vessel:
- Converted the ship to a 20,000 bpd production facility
replacing thousands of tons of steel
- Added a 24 MMscd enclosed flare
- Added a 62' X 62' Helideck to the ship
- Added a complete mooring system, complete with Chain
Stoppers and Chain Haul-In Winches & Tackle
- Added import/export Umbilical connections
- Upgraded the Boiler to a tri-fuel control System (HFO/MDO/WASTE
GAS)
- Installed shipwide RTU-Based Communications System
- The Jamestown FPSO is now a converted tanker, capable
of storing 180,000 barrels of oil. It includes Production
Facilities to include three(3) - phase separation for 20,000
barrels of oil per day (bobd), 5,000 barrels of water per
day (bwpd) and 35 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd)
of produced gas
- All of the above was accomplished in less than ten months.
