Scope/Description:

  • Mad Dog will be 16-slot truss spar providing a dry-tree environment for production of oil and gas, as well as provide a host facility for future subsea developments. Production equipment, a drilling rig, and permanent quarters for both drilling and production personnel will be located on the spar.
  • Spar will be a single piece structure with a total payload of approximately 18,000 short tons excluding hull storage
  • The topsides are designed around a single-lift integrated deck concept with a lift weight of approximately 8,400 short tons.

 

 

 

Innovation:

  • Mad Dog is one of four major BP deepwater projects for the Gulf of Mexico under construction at the company’s Morgan City facility which is under exclusive use for BP.
