Note:

  • SP86C was called SP89C in error, because the field was first developed in Block 89, though the design was for a platform in Block 86. At a late stage in the design (which was called SP89C), it was noted that the MMS would require the platform to be called after its actual location (i.e. Block 86). So, the name of the platform was changed to SP86C (it's henceforth official designation), but all the design files, etc. all refer to SP89C.

Scope:

  • Complete preliminary and detailed engineering design, including fabrication support engineering and installation engineering.
  • The platform was designed for 200 MMscfd of gas, 20 Mbpd of oil, 10 Mbpd of water handling, 20 MMscfd of gas lift, had 14 well slots all of which were to be dual completion, separation compression, dehydration of gas, and produced water handling and gas lift.
  • Completed FEED for 87D, which was based on 89/86C. 87D changed drastically -- turned out to be just a separation platform. Production was routed to 86C for further processing.
