Description:
- Remote tie back of well site 4 miles from host platform
at Viosca Knoll 989
Innovation:
- Dual lay of TFL, pipeline and umbilicals
- Pipelines laid side by side on same reel
- Deepest Multiple J-Tube Pull
- Pigged TFL lines with Gel pig to remove mill scale and
debris while on reel
- Installation of dual pipeline tie-in sleds
- Installed concrete mats utilizing ROV
- Deepwater pipeline repair utilizing rigid pipe jumper

Scope:
- Conventional Contract that included risk/ reward provisions,
with J. Ray McDermott responsible for installation.
Technology:
- Installed pipe coated with 22MM polypropylene utilizing
reeled pipe method
- TFL technology used in reeled pipe application
- Installed high strength steel pipe utilizing the reeled
pipe method
- Developed methods for mechanical testing of pipe prior
to reeling
- Developed acceptance criteria for welding of high strength
steel pipe to be reeled
- Developed transition for wall thickness change for reeling
high strength steel pipe
