Scope:

  • Lump Sum EPCI contract, with JRM being responsible for designing, procuring, fabricating and installing the tripod jacket and 4-leg deck.

Description:

  • The three-leg platform, or tripod, will be located 130 miles southwest of Morgan City, Louisiana in 470 feet of water. It will be a 12-well structure capable of supporting a self-contained drilling rig and equipment. The skirt pile founded jacket will weight 2,700 tons and the deck 700 tons. The structures are being designed by J. Ray McDermott Engineering in New Orleans and will be fabricated at J. Ray McDermott's facility near Morgan City. From designing and fabricating to installation, the project is expected to be completed in 10 1/2 months. J. Ray McDermott's Derrick Barge 50 is scheduled to install the structure. The W & T project will be the third deepest tripod in the Gulf of Mexico
