CASPIAN VESSELS
Through the Caspian subsidiary’s alliance with State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), McDermott draws key marine resources from Caspian Sea Oil Fleet (CSOF), SOCAR’s marine operations group, which provides support vessels and installation equipment.

ISRAFIL HUSEYNOV (PLBG)
Pipelay barge Israfil Huseynov is a non-self propelled pipelay barge positioned by a 10-point all electric driven mooring system with anchors run out by handling tugs. At the bow, the vessel is equipped with two conventional type storm anchor winches and retractable type Aqua Master thruster units foward and aft.

PLBG was provided to J. Ray Caspian operating entity by Azerbaijani International Operating Company (AIOC), operated by BP, through a Charter Party Agreement with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). Under pipeline installation contracts to AIOC, J. Ray performed significant upgrades of the vessel used for installing pipelines for AIOC, BP and SOCAR projects.

Significant Upgrades:

  • Installation of new bow extension platform
  • New stinger ballast and movement controls
  • Installation of new tensioners and A&R winch
  • Removal and replacement of starboard crane
  • Refurbishment of clinic and accommodation
  • Dry-docking and class re-certification
  • Replacement and upgrading of anchor winch drive system
  • Overhaul of main engines and upgrade of power plant

AKADEMIK TOFIK ISMAYLOV (DSV)

The diving support vessel Akademik Tofik Ismaylov (DSV) has been issued to J. Ray Caspian operating entity to perform pipeline installation projects for the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), operated by BP, and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

On behalf of AIOC, J. Ray performed significant upgrades of this 300-foot long, 5,181-ton oceanic vessel. Now the DSV boasts the latest dynamic positioning and navigation instrumentation and can provide deepwater subsea construction support via its own remote-operated vehicle. Its custom-made 12-man diving complex is designed to perform saturation diving to 984 feet and air diving in shallow waters to 164 feet.

Significant Upgrades:

  • New equipment including the latest dynamic positioning, navigation, main engines control and fire-fighting systems
  • Multiple enhancements to pipeline installation capability and repair
  • Deepwater subsea construction support using a remote-operated vehicle and other technology.
  • Main crane lift capacity of 55 tons and subsidiary deck crane capacity of 2.2 tons.
